About our Practice
After several years of a successful solo psychology practice, our founder and clinical director, Dr. Roth has brought together a team of talented mental health professionals to help meet the growing need for a comprehensive, multi-specialty, behavioral health clinic located in Central New Jersey. Our practice aims to address the mental health servicing gap by creating a full-service psychological clinic. Our clinicians will have advanced training in the treatment externalizing behavior disorders, anxiety disorders, mood disorders as well as niche areas of practice include behavioral consultation with schools, family therapy, and special education advocacy.

Founder and Clinical Director
Scott A. Roth, Psy.D.

Dr. Roth is licensed psychologist and New Jersey certified school psychologist providing psychological and psycho-educational services to children, adolescents, and adults. He is committed to helping his clients meet their goals through a goal directed, action-oriented, and collaborative approach. He believes that trust, empathy, and a supportive therapeutic relationship are not only helpful in treatment but necessary. Dr. Roth provides a warm, caring, and safe environment so that his clients can have a level of comfort when working toward their goals.
Dr. Roth has successfully treated individuals with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Mood Disorders (Unipolar Depression and Bipolar Disorder), Anxiety Disorders, Learning Difficulties, and Asperger’s Disorder. He has also helped individuals develop the skills to cope with trauma, divorce, and other adjustment issues.
Dr. Roth has served as a court-appointed expert in several family court matters; conducting reunification therapy, custody neutral assessments, and high conflict case management.
Dr. Roth graduated Cum Laude from Rutgers College at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2002. He continued at Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology to receive his Masters Degree in 2005 and Doctorate in 2006.

Ashley Kipness, Psy.D.

Dr. Ashley Kipness is an experienced licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in New Jersey. Dr. Kipness predominantly counsels children and adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorder and depression. Additionally, she counsels families of children exhibiting behavioral difficulties. In all capacities she works with clients and their families to achieve their desired outcomes. She has worked in a variety of positions in public school districts including school psychologist, behaviorist, and supervisor of special services. This experience provides a unique lens that can assist families in multiple facets of a child’s day. As the basis for all counseling, she believes in fostering a strong therapeutic relationship with those in her care. Imperative for progress, she establishes trust not only with clients, but also with their families.
Dr. Kipness graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The College of New Jersey. She then received her master’s degree (2012) and doctoral degree (2013) in psychology from Rutgers University's Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology.

Jill O’Hare, Psy.D.

Dr. Jill O’Hare is a licensed psychologist and a New Jersey certified school psychologist. She earned her undergraduate degree from Penn State University, and she earned her doctorate degree from Rutgers at The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. She has 13 years of experience as a school psychologist and utilizes a collaborative approach in working with children and families, thus maintaining communication with school staff and other service providers when needed. Dr. O’Hare utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach while building a safe and therapeutic relationship with clients. Dr. O’Hare has experience in working with clients with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, learning disabilities, depression, and autism spectrum disorders. She has also extensive experience in psychological evaluations and assessment.

Mason Shepherd, Psy.D.

Dr. Mason Shepherd is a Licensed Psychologist, and certified School Psychologist since 2009. He earned his doctoral degree in School Psychology at the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. Dr. Shepherd practices utilizing evidence-based treatments (e.g., Cognitive Behavior Therapy, etc.) and conducts therapy with families, children, adolescents, and adults providing coaching, consultation, workshops and more. Dr. Shepherd has experience working with a variety of concerns in addition to ADHD, behavioral difficulties, mood & anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders and he is knowledgeable regarding the administration and interpretation of psychological assessments. Dr. Shepherd has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at Montclair State University since 2010.
Dr. Shepherd trained at a nationally competitive internship program, Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (formerly known as University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) in Newark, New Jersey. His training included rotations in the pediatric emergency department, adolescent/adult partial hospitalization programs, intensive out-patient groups for children, and work with juvenile offenders at the Jamesburg Juvenile Detention Center. Dr. Shepherd also received training at Children’s Specialized Hospital, Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation and participated in a year-long autism fellowship with the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (NJLEND) program through the Boggs Center at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Cloey Wilcox, Psy.D.

Dr. Wilcox is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist providing psychological services and psycho-educational evaluations to children and adolescents. She has extensive experience working in public and independent schools and has treated individuals with Anxiety Disorders, Depression, ADHD and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. She has also assisted those with educational and behavioral difficulties. In her work in schools Dr. Wilcox has experience working with high achieving students, children with executive functioning difficulties and children experiencing social challenges. Dr. Wilcox believes in collaborating with the adults in a child’s life as an important aspect of therapy including caregivers, teachers and other health care professionals. She also works to develop a safe space for children and adolescents to explore their thoughts and feelings while being structured and action oriented.
Dr. Wilcox graduated from Rutgers University in 2000 and obtained her Masters and Doctorate (2005) in School Psychology from Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology. She also holds a certificate in Integrated Primary Care through Fairleigh Dickinson University (2013).

Jessica Fernandez, Psy.D.

Dr. Jessica Fernandez is a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist in the state of New Jersey. She strives to create a warm, supportive, and safe environment where client and therapist work in a collaborative manner. Dr. Fernandez uses a therapeutic framework rooted in psychodymanic and cognitive behavior therapy with clients experiencing a variety of concerns including mood and behavioral difficulties.
Dr. Fernandez graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University in 2005, obtained a Master’s degree in Psychological Services from Kean University in 2009, and a Doctorate in Psychology in 2014 from Pace University. Dr. Fernandez has trained in various mental health settings such as hospitals, partial hospitalization programs, inpatient units, community outpatient services, and schools.
